Nestled in the picturesque Nadder Valley, Teffont House is a beautifully restored village hotel and restaurant where historic character meets relaxed, contemporary hospitality. For this special project, we supplied furniture to the elegant Orangery restaurant, creating a warm and welcoming setting that feels entirely at home within its historic surroundings.
A Historic Wiltshire Setting
Dating back to 1623, Teffont House sits at the heart of Teffont Evias, surrounded by the rolling landscape of the Cranborne Chase. Today, the property offers seventeen individually designed bedrooms, seasonal dining and beautiful gardens designed for guests to slow down and enjoy the countryside.
Formerly known as Howard’s House, the property has a fascinating history and was home in the 1920s to artist and keen gardener Henry Howard, whose passion helped shape the gardens that remain an important part of Teffont House today.
The Orangery Restaurant
At the heart of the dining experience is the light-filled Orangery, offering seasonal cooking in a relaxed and elegant setting. The space reflects Teffont House’s wider philosophy: traditional influences combined with a fresh, contemporary approach.
We were delighted to supply furniture for the Orangery, complementing its understated aesthetic and the style of sister restaurant Beckford Canteen in Bath.
The Orangery features our Audley Dining Chairs and Audley High Stools, upholstered in rich leather. These are paired with our popular Bromley Pedestal Tables, supplied with a combination of oak and Carrara marble tops. The contrast between natural timber and elegant marble adds subtle variation while maintaining a cohesive look.
Together, the pieces create a dining environment that feels sophisticated without being overly formal, a space made for leisurely lunches, long dinners and special occasions.
