The Mallard, Tidbury Green

Venue: The Mallard

Set in Tidbury Green, near Solihull, The Mallard is a traditional country pub housed within a historic farmhouse dating back to at least the 17th century.

The Grade II-listed building is described by Historic England as “a good and substantially complete example of vernacular farm building”. Carefully adapted to preserve its heritage, the pub combines original character, oak beams and open fires with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Part of the Brunning & Price group, The Mallard celebrates the charm of traditional British pub life, and we were delighted to work with the team, supplying furniture throughout the venue to complement the building's historic character and bring the interior scheme together.

The bar area features our reclaimed smokers bow armchairs alongside solid-oak top cricket tables, finished in a mix of medium oak and golden oak stains. The variation in timber tones adds depth and texture to the space while retaining the traditional character of the interior, creating a relaxed and welcoming setting that complements the pub’s heritage.

Completing the bar area, our Haughton high stools from Taylor’s Classics’ Exclusive range feature solid oak construction and traditional English pub styling with an Arts and Crafts influence. Finished in a medium oak stain and upholstered in rich leather, the stools introduce a variety of tones and texture, complementing the warm, traditional character of the bar area.

To complete the collection, a carefully selected range of antique and reclaimed furniture and accessories was sourced from our warehouse. Among the pieces are characterful barrel-backed wing armchairs, featuring distinctive colours that add individuality to the landing area. Their finishes and vintage appeal contribute to the relaxed, lived-in atmosphere, feeling perfectly at home within the pub’s historic surroundings.

We were honoured to be involved in the transformation of The Mallard, supplying a selection of traditional and reclaimed furniture to complement the character of this historic farmhouse. Every corner of this building captures the enduring charm of a traditional British pub, creating a characterful and welcoming space that celebrates its heritage while catering to modern-day hospitality.
