Venue: Black Horse & Rainbow
Located on the vibrant Berry Street in Liverpool's Ropewalks district, the Black Horse & Rainbow is a “throwback to a time when pubs thrived- reclaiming the name it once wore on Berry Street”. Following an extensive refurbishment, the venue has been transformed into a welcoming neighbourhood destination that celebrates the character and heritage of traditional public houses, whilst offering an impressive food and drink offering, live entertainment and a spacious beer garden.
We were delighted to work with the team at DGB Hospitality, supplying new furniture and reclaimed pieces throughout the project, helping to bring their vision of a genuine, character-filled boozer to life.
A focal point of the interior is our bespoke Glasgow bench seating, manufactured to fit the space perfectly. Each bench was made to measure and upholstered in rich leather with traditional deep-buttoned backs, creating comfortable seating that perfectly complements the classic pub aesthetic. Each piece finished in our Jacobean Oak stain, providing warmth and consistency throughout the venue.
The bench seating is complemented by a selection of furniture from across our collections, including matching Haughton low stools and high stools, as well as Broadway low stools paired together with our Angel, Parisian and Industrial cast iron bases, all combined with a mix of new solid oak and reclaimed copper tabletops. We also supplied our Tulip Refectory poseur bases within the bar area, again finished with solid oak tops, providing a variety of seating styles while maintaining a cohesive traditional appearance.
To complete the scheme, we also supplied a carefully chosen collection of antique and reclaimed pub furniture and accessories, reinforcing the authentic character of the interior. Traditional honours boards, reclaimed wall racks, classic standard lamps and solid oak planters were all selected from our warehouse, to add layers of history and individuality, ensuring the space feels as though it has evolved naturally over many years rather than being newly created.
The Blackhorse & Rainbow captures everything that makes a traditional British pub so enduring: warm timber, classic cast iron, comfortable leather seating and carefully considered details, resulting in a venue that already feels instantly familiar and welcoming.
