If you’re looking for a cosy, friendly pub in the heart of Staffordshire, be sure to pay The Bank House in the village of Hixon a visit. Set in a 400-year-old building, the pub was lovingly refurbished in September 2018 by owner The Lewis Partnership.
The interior boasts the feel of a friendly and traditional country inn since the restoration retained the venues beautiful original features such as the low oak-beamed ceilings, brought into the 21st century with modern touches throughout. As you would expect from a great traditional pub, there are many cosy nooks with the warm glow of log burners, making it a great place to sample the real ales and lagers on offer alongside some quality food.
For this project, Taylor’s Classics were to supply traditional pub furniture that would help make up the classic and refined finish, retaining that feel of a true country pub without feeling fussy and cluttered. The result is plenty of sumptuously upholstered seating alongside traditional pub stools and tables, which work in harmony with the wooden beams, wood-burning stoves and the gallery wall of local history.
Some key pieces to mention are the Heals High Bar Stool, and the Eaton Spindle Back Dining Chair from our collection of Traditional Pub Chairs, which sit at Traditional Pub Tables, again from our own collection which includes the Tavern Oak Table and the Bromley Pedestal Table which is based on an 18th-century design and updated for use in busy hospitality establishments.
