Yes it is impressive, yes it is big, yes he has some lovely features, yes it would have been made for an important house, yes it does need some work, yes it has been stripped and originally would have been painted and yes there are some mouldings and a couple of panels missing and obviously the central mirror.
This is a well proportioned fire surround with many good features but the one I appreciate the most are the tapering columns on each side, I think they are very classy and I think it shows the grandeur of the piece. It is basically all there and we are selling it in its existing condition. What you see is what you get and the price reflects this.
